Australian Droughtmaster cattle

The Droughtmaster is a tropical breed of beef cattle developed in North Queensland, Australia by several cattlemen from crossing Brahman and British breed cattle, principally the Beef Shorthorn during the early 1900s. Wikipedia

Used For

Meat yield

‘Droughtmaster cattle are well known for the superior quality of well-muscled carcass with optimum fat coverage. 

Excellent dressing percentage and high saleable meat yields.
Their dressing percentage results are around 58% with 76% saleable meat yields.

They are considered a middle of the road breed with fat cover at optimum levels. 

They have a great marbling performance that is among the highest of the Bos indicus derived breed. Their docility and calmness keep their meat color good and the PH levels acceptable.‘ (Domestic Animal Breeds)
